There is another tool you will need and is called a smoker. The purpose of the smoker is to drive the bees out, it comes in handy when you want to do some honey harvesting. A smoker is actually crafted very simplistically. The basic design of the smoker includes a combustion chamber along with a funnel and bellows. You can ideally use burlap in the smoker for the ignition because it lights up quite fast and it smolders a lot, producing thick dense fumes. Another option is to use dry corn cobs. Ignite the fire in the chamber.

Now is the time to get a metal hive tool. You can prise open the hive with this tool then the compartments can be divided and hygiene of the hive can be maintained. During harvesting the honey from a hive, people use a fumer board. You can drive the bees away from the honeycomb using this fumer board because of its bee repelling chemicals.
