A cold sore is an infection that is caused by a herpes simplex virus. Cold sores are communicable and get easily transferred from an infected person to a healthy person. The problem becomes acute for small children who regularly come in contact with too many people. So, mainly they need immunity from this infection.
Cold sore is caused by a virus which is very contagious. So, if people get this virus then they cannot get rid of this very easily. The most common infection that people suffer is Oral herpes. Oral herpes is also known as herpes labialis. This is a type of infection that occurs when the infection causing virus comes in direct contact with the oral mucosa.
This type of infection mostly remains inactive for a certain period of time. So, during that time people cannot guess whether they are suffering from this infection or not. But, after a certain period of time this virus surfaces abruptly and infects the people.
The most important thing that people should keep in their mind is that this infection is dangerous for them even when they are not suffering from this infection. So, they should take every precautionary step so that they do not suffer from this infection.
